I have to admit that I’m not much of a fan of end times hysteria and predictions. Nor am I a fan of end time charts and arguments over rapture and millennial views where people assert that they have figured out how the future is going to play out. Remember when Gorbachev won the prize for most likely to be the anti-christ because he had a birth mark on his head! Perhaps it’s for all these reasons (and more) that I have avoided preaching through the book of Revelation. I have seen it as breaking off more than I can chew with all of its imagery, history, controversy, and complexity. And yet I can’t help but believe that we are living in the last days where this ancient apocalyptic literature has something to say to us. So I’ve decided to bite the bullet and preach through the book of Revelation starting sometime this Spring. I’ll have to do a lot of homework before I jump right in! I invite you and your neighbors, friends and coworkers to grab a Bible, paper and pen as we go searching for Jesus in this awesome book!
P.S. Before the series begins please do the following: Please throw away you’re Left Behind books and then memorize the following chart! OK so I’m kidding about the chart, but seriously leave Left Behind behind!
